Description
Sax Berlin followers will already be aware that a second love of his is music. He has created this piece as a tribute to Motown; Berry Gordy Jr’s classic record label. Motown music brought racial integration into music in the troubled America of the 1960’s and remains an iconic genre well into the twentieth century. Smokey Robinson, himself a soul music legend said of the label, “we were not only making music we were making history”, as is Sax Berlin with his Sharp Edge 21st century Neo- expressionist New York City style. Motown and Berlin cross barriers, breaking down and integrating people with art & music. Listen to Berlin’s description of this painting and you will hear his passion and his voice of hope for the future through music and art.
