Shima Shanti, an encaustic fine artist, interlaces her corporate and philosophical background with her profound connection to nature. She layers purified molten beeswax, earth pigments, and flame to reveal textured, iridescent visions that teeter between the abstract and the real. Her work evokes a serene introspection, setting free emotions linked to nature's elemental beauty. Fifty-plus layers of purified beeswax mixed with earth pigments are painted on custom-made Russian Baltic birch panels then fused with the flame of a torch. Shima's inspiration is borne from growing up in the endless abundance of water and big sky of Montana. Her connection to nature has gifted her with an innate sense of color and composition.
