Description
The composition in “Acer Silhouette” is based around the sinewy and undulating branches and trunk of the artist’s backyard maple tree. The particular texture of the tree bark is contrasted with a range of other textures evident in the leafy garden vegetation. The rich dark tones in the background make mysterious shapes - around the tree and the colorful patterned beach towel - thrusting them towards the viewer in a dramatic way.
