Description
"American Girl" by Ellen Waitzkin is a uniquely colored and over-sized phototrophic print on French Canso Platine rag paper. The artist prints her photographs herself on an Epson professional ink jet printer, which she uses to manipulate her colorings and compositions. This photographic print measures 54"W x 35"H. The dimensions listed below include the frame. It is signed and dated and designated as 1 of 1 on the lower right. On the reverse side is a label with the artist's own information. The photographic print is protected by museum quality archival mounting and UV-protected Plexiglass. The beach in this photograph is Marconi Beach, Cape Cod, Massachusetts, on an August day in 2015.
Ellen Waitzkin's photographs are always crowd-pleasers. Her creativity, her eye for color, her non-judgmental observation of the world, and her love of people and Nature are all constant aspects of her art. Here, her sense of humor and her awe of the sea, her delight in human activity and 'American Pop Art take on the spirits of Bruegel, Bosch, and Warhol. -
