Frame Photograph Shady Breakfast by John Patrick Dugdale
-
Description
A framed photograph by John Patrick Dugdale (American, born 1960-) titled "Shady Breakfast". Relatively large in print size, the gelatin chloride print depicts an idyllic breakfast table for two under the shade of a large tree. The warm tone and its vintage poetic quality are the signature style and the result of a preferred darkroom technique of the artist's work due to his lost eyesight. The empty chairs evoke a sense of absence, but it could also be anticipation.
Made in 1996, the print was dry mount on board by the artist and hand titled, dated and signed verso. It doesn't indicate an edition number (perhaps a gift print). The size of the photograph is 14.5" x 18.5"; and it is housed in its original black wood frame under museum plexiglass by Chelsea Frames. -
