Description
Street Photographer Mitchell Funk captures the Chrysler Building as it stands between two neighbors. Compositional exactitude adds to the overall visual appeal of Funk's formal composition. But Funk's use of extreme light or "Light Hyperbole" elevates his work from typical tourist snapshots into a unique visual statement that bears the mark of its creator. In the present image, we are approaching the boundary of pure abstraction as skyscrapers become graphic shapes in their animated dialog with each other.
Funk has been shooting the Chrysler Building for 50 years, and this recent photo shows how the New York Art Deco icon has an enduring appeal even as the adjacent structures change.
This archival color photograph by Mitchell Funk is signed, dated and numbered 2/15, lower right recto. Other sizes are available and the fine art photograph is unframed and printed later. Printed on Hahnemühle Fine Art paper
