Description
Color Photographer Mitchell Funk depicts New York City somewhere between the ideal and the real. In an Upper East Side park, he shoots a lone white dog standing at the intersection of two cracks in the asphalt and among scattered, evenly distributed autumn leaves. Although this is a caught moment of an alert dog, there is something perfect about how the image is put together. Funk is atop a highrise looking down and not only capturing a moment in time but has created a photograph that straddles representation and abstraction. The photograph is dated lower right and numbered verso 3 /15, Unframed, Other sizes are available.
This work is printed on fine art Hahnemuhle paper. The color will vary from monitor to monitor.
Mitchell Funk is a pioneer of " Color Photography" In 1970 he participated in one the first " Color Photography" shows at a major museum. Brooklyn Museum, show "Images en Couleur" . 1971 Included he was included in the visionary book "Frontiers of Photography" Time-Life. Color ! American Photography Transformed. Amon Carter Museum. He has had more than 50 Photography Magazine Covers and has had covers on Newsweek, Fortune, New York Magazine and Life Magazine among others. -
