New York City Hazy Day , Central Park West Towers Cradle Orange Red Sun
-
Description
Dense smoke from Canadian wildfires blanketed New York City with a thick, warm grey haze, giving the sky a surreal quality. Sunset enhanced the hazy effect. Photographer Mitchell Funk exploited the perfect moment as the sun transformed into a lollypop-colored sphere cradled between two pre-war Central Park skyscrapers. The resulting image strikes a perfect composition where all the elements harmonious relate to each other.
The attached video shows light and uses the still images as a reference for color and shape.
