Wherever You Look, You See The Chrysler Building: Greater East River
-
Description
In 1998, wherever you looked, you could see the Chrysler Building. From the vantage point of the Greater East River/ Flushing Bay, Photographer Mitchell Funk captures the Chrysler Building in silhouette. It's defined by strong lighting increases its dramatic effect. A passing barge stacked with containers dominates the foreground space. Yet this image is not about a barge stacked with containers. Can a subject be the center or focus, even if it is of a subdued color and set back in the composition?
