Requiem for a Virgin King by Adja Yunkers (1900-1983), abstract lithograph, yellow, signed. Large lithograph on wove paper. Signed and dated in pencil in lower right. Numbered 39/50 and titled: Requiem for a Virgin King. Image size measures: 46 x 35. Framed size: 54.5 inches x 45 inches. Archivally matted and framed with a 1.5 inch white lacquered wood molding and UV plexiglass.
Yunkers, a major New York mid-twentieth century abstract painter and printmaker, was part of a group of New York artists (and friends) which included Robert Motherwell, Willem De Kooning, Mark Rothko, Phillip Guston, and Alexander Calder. -
