Kipply is as special as his breed. Originating in Switzerland, Valais Blacknose sheep remain extremely rare and important to the Swiss people. Finding not one but two (twins even!) was an exciting moment, one that had me traveling across the country to photograph them. Per Swiss tradition, Kipply and his twin, Klover, were both named according to the yearly naming calendar, which determines a designated letter for each year. These beauties were born in 2023—the year of the K.
