"Rinocerontes", Wood Engraving by Sergio Sanchez Santamaria, Homage to Durer
-
Description
Contemporary Mexican artist Sergio Sanchez Santamaria created this limited edition (#5 of10) wood engraving in 2010 in homage to one of his heroes, Albrecht Durer. He modeled his engraving after Durer's famous "Rhinoceros" wood cut, as explained in Spanish text across the top, echoing the manner of Durer. The artist signed his name in pencil on the lower right and wrote the edition number on the lower left.
This impressive wood engraving is float-mounted on archival matting under museum quality UV-blocking, low-glare glass in a simple modern black wooden frame. The dimensions listed above are for the overall item including the frame. The engraving itself measures 14.75"W x 19.5"H. -
