Very well painted original watercolor on archival paper of potted geraniums with metal watering can and garden gloves. Signed in pencil by the artist Peggy Dressel lower right. The S.P.S. after her signature stands for Southeastern Pastel Society of which she is a member. Circa 1985. Condition is excellent. Professionally framed in gold leaf frame with double mat. Overall framed measurements are 24.25 by 30 inches. Under glass. Provenance: A Sarasota, Florida estate.
PEGGY DRESSEL
Peggy Dressel studied at Pratt Institute, NYC, AOS, The National Academy of Design, NYC, and Moore College of Art, PA. She has exhibited and received numerous awards for her paintings in juried exhibitions and galleries such as: the Lena Di Gangi Gallery, Nathan's Gallery, the Dupre Gallery, the Nabisco Gallery, the Interchurch Center in NYC, Catharine Lorrilard Wolfe Art Club, and the AAPL Grand National. In 2004 she was invited to participate in a group exhibition at the Bergen Museum of Art and Science. She is a member of the Degas Pastel Society, the AAPL, the Oregon Pastel Society, and a signature member of the Southeastern Pastel Society.
Companies such as Prentice-Hall, Macmillan/McGraw-Hill, Macys and Vogue have published her illustrations.She has illustrated four children's books: Hoops! by Connie Turner, The Marble Jar by Sharon L. Young, The Adventures of the Magic Attic Dolls by Maricia Wilkie and Emily's Bracelet by Kandilyn Martin and Frank Martin.
