Secondary wood: Tulip Poplar, White Pine

Reference: A similar chest also signed by John Seltzer, (1774-1845) is in the collection of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. That chest is dated 1804 and appears in Monroe H. Fabian, The Pennsylvania-German Decorated Chest, page 141, entry 107.
