Walnut William & Mary Blanket Chest

Description
A warm walnut finish helps to emphasize the inviting architectural features of this blanket chest. It has a molded lid with iron strap hinges sits over an engraved escutcheon on the case with exposed dovetails and a front facing mid-molding over two drawers with engraved escutcheons and brass pulls over a base molding and ball feet. This chest does not have a till.

Origin:	United States, Pennsylvania
Period:	18th Century
Materials:	Walnut with pine and white cedar secondary woods.
Condition:	One of the brass are replaced, the top has a 1" strip that was added in the center across the horizontal plane, the base molding is replaced and the ball feet have been professionally restored. The lock has been replaced.
Creation Date:	Pennsylvania, c. 1740.
