Description
Dimensions: 35 1/4″H x 45″W x 23 1/2″D
A stunning four-drawer Empire commode, made in France circa 1860. A thick piece of gray marble rests atop the body. This marble is very well preserved and in wonderful antique condition. Just beneath the marble top is a hidden drawer, free of any hardware, providing additional inconspicuous storage. The three drawers below all have magnificent brass pulls that are cast with fleur de lis and crest details. The façades of the three lower drawers have been book matched, creating a mirrored effect that keeps the walnut’s grain balanced. The drawers also have cast brass escutcheons and are flanked by Empirical columns, each having brass bases and capitals. - More Information
