19th Century French Painted Chest
-
Description
An early 19th century Directoire period chest with a lovely grayish white faded finish. The rectangular top is painted gray and surmounts two smaller top drawers and two larger lower drawers. The ring drawer pulls are in bronze and the chest is raised on turned, slightly tapered legs. This beauty has elegant, clean lines characteristic of the Directoire period, and a wonderfully weathered finish.
