Description
This exceptional Reading tall clock has elaborately carved decoration on the quarter columns and tympanum, executed from the solid wood in the Pennsylvania German manner. The hood is topped with the original finials in the shape of pineapples and a central cartouche consisting of an openwork basket with flowers. The case is attributed to John Cunnius, a talented cabinetmaker and master builder from Reading.
