Exquisite French Ormolu-Mounted Mahogany and Glass Vitrine Cabinet

$ 90,000
  • Description
    An exquisite French Ormolu-mounted mahogany and glass vitrine cabinet, attributed to Francois Linke, circa 1880.

    Although unsigned, the jewel-like quality ormolu bronze mounts throughout, especially the corinthian columns, and the best mahogany and craftsmanship of the period, confirms our attribution to Francois Linke, who was almost certainly one of best furniture makers of the Belle Epoque period alongside Paul Sormani, Henry Dasson, Alexandre Chevrie, and of course Alfred Emanuel Louis Beurdelay.

    With original beveled glass throughout, this two section vitrine, is unlike any other we have seen in all our years. The top section with two glass shelves, and the bottom is of cup-board form with the doors opening outward.

    With original key.

    Truly an exquisite piece of 19th century French furniture for a sophisticated collector.

    Measures: 74" high x 26" wide 15.5" deep.

    Very good condition overall, no damages noted. Ready to place.
