French 19th Century Louis Philippe Commode | Desk

Description
A stunning Louis Philippe mahogany commode with a fold-down secretary desk housed in its top drawer. The drawer fronts are bookmatched, making a striking and symmetrical mahogany pattern. The top drawer / desk front keyhole is encircled with molding details. Opening the writing desk gives the whole a maximum depth of 31-½”, the writing surface height is 31-¼”H. Four drawers with dark wood turned knobs and inlay flank a large pigeon hole for storage are housed inside. The writing surface is inset with a worn bleck leather top decorated with a gold tooled border. All drawers feature functioning locks; two keys are included. Hidden at the bottom of this piece is a large drawer, pulled open by placing your hand just below the front edge of the lower apron.
