-
Description
Dimensions: 106 3/4″H x 65″W x 20″D
An exceptionally well-carved Louis XV style armoire from 1880’s France. The crest atop the armoire is masterfully worked, with carved and pierced details in the form of a cherub between carved “C” scrolls, floral, foliate and bird motifs. This crest rests atop a shaped cornice with outrounded corners. These shapely corners are complemented by the piece’s serpentine sides. Two glass-front, shaped doors close before a spectacularly finished interior. The interior is finished in brilliant bird’s eye maple and trimmed in Parisian red moulding. Two lockable drawers can be found inside the case piece, facilitating out-of-sight storage. The skirt is also shaped, with detailed carvings that continue onto the armoire’s cabriole legs and escargot feet. -
