-
Description
This large oak two-door armoire is from France, c. 1780’s, and has a rich, warm patina. Characteristic of the Louis XIII style (1610-1643), it features boldly carved and paneled doors with steel hinges, surrounded by seven turned roundels, shaped apron, and five deep panels on each side. In addition to its lock-and-key mechanism, the doors boast two unusual hand-cut steel sliding locks and escutcheons and open to reveal three deep, fixed shelves for plenty of storage that will be safe and secure!
