LOUIS XV PERIOD ORMOLU MOUNTED BOMBÉ ROSEWOOD MARQUETRY COMMODE
By Guillaume Schwingkens with original “Flandres à bec de corbin” marble from Flanders over five drawers in three rows. Finely incised gilt bronze handles, escutchens and mounts, stamped ‘ . France circa 1750
Guillaume Schwingkens's maîtrise is not recorded, but he was established in the Faubourg-Saint-Antoine
before moving to the rue de Charenton around 1745. He died in 1760. There is a marquetry commode by Schwingken in the Louvre Museum Paris.
