Lightly Restored Paul Evans Style, Lane Brutalist, Staccato or Mosaic Tall Chest
-
Description
This tall chest was designed in the brutalist style made iconic by Paul Evans, and manufactured by Lane USA, circa 1970s. Made with varied blocks of oak attached to the front, it lends an imposing and dramatic look while retaining the rich color and warmth of the oak. The dresser sports 3 expansive dovetail contruction drawers on the bottom, with metal rails. Two doors above reveal one drawer and a divided interior with two adjustable shelves. All are very sturdy and heavy. All doors and drawers work smoothly and effectively, and the front provides a sense of depth absent of many other dressers or cabinets of the MCM era.
The condition is very good. The door and drawer fronts have minor blemishes that are next to invisible. All drawers work well with clean interiors. I have lightly oiled and waxed this chest. It is in wonderful original and time-capsule-like condition. An extremely well-made piece of furniture. -
