Description
A rare pair of corner bookcases in the Louis XVI style. This piece marries the original 19th century construction of the lower corner cabinets and upper frame with the newer construction of the interior cabinetry and open shelving. Beautifully carved floral and ribbon appliqués adorn the upper shelving. The piece is painted in a soft French blue - gray. A professional carpenter will be needed to assemble the upper bookcase framing. The upper bookcase can be assembled and remain freestanding or secured to a wall. Please note, the cross boards behind the shelving serve as a temporary support and are intended to be removed when fitted in the home. The length dimensions for the backside of the bookcase are: 59 5/8" for the adjacent side and 58 3/8" for the facing side. Both length dimensions represent the necessary space for each side of the bookcase. More detailed dimensions are provided on the last photo.
