Paul McCobb Planner Group 8-Drawer Dresser for Winchendon Furniture
-
Description
One of the greatest Mid-Century Modern designers is Paul McCobb. While his name may not be as well known as Charles & Ray Eames or Eero Saarinen, McCobb's work was vast and to this day remains a tremendous influence in modern furniture design. McCobb was truly a master of delicate proportions whether it be his architectural approach to dimensions or a detail such as his diminutive pulls. No other designer approached furniture quite like Paul McCobb.
This dresser is a lesser seen piece, a modest design which makes it all the more special. The 8-Drawer composition provides room for ample storage and its surface is perfect to display one's dearest belongings. The piece is set atop a durable wood base which confidently exposes the ends of its cross stretchers through each leg. Generously sized substantial solid brass pulls adorn each drawer face which feel like a warm compliment to the rich wood McCobb selected for this piece. To finish the piece we find the Planner Group label within one drawer, giving credit to Paul Cobb's work for Winchendon Furniture. -
