French 1940s cabinet by Pierre-Paul Montagnac. Model exhibited at the 1945 Salon d'Automne.
This cabinet is a masterpiece of French cabinet-making designed by Pierre-Paul Montagnac. The front is decorated in an intricate whiplash marquetry pattern. The entire interior of the cabinet is in bird's eye maple. The entire base and other solid wood trim is narra (solid amboyna). The inset top is the original marble. Believed to be one of just two examples of this model, the other being in macassar ebony. Model exhibited at the Paris Salon d'Automne, 1945. - More Information
