Provenance: Stone Family of Salem, Massachusetts; Shephard Family of Minnesota; Bernard & S. Dean Levy, Inc., New York; Private collection, Ohio.
Reference: Chests on chests with a block fronted base and fluted pilasters on the upper case are representative of those made on the North Shore of Massachusetts. For a similar example with three urn and flame finials, please see Gerald Ward American Case Furniture in the Mabel Brady Garvan and other Collections at Yale University, number 79, pages 167-168. -
