Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern Dresser in Book-Matched Walnut by William Hinn
-
Description
The celebrated Mid Century Modern Swedish designer William Hinn realized this exceptional and rare eight-drawer walnut dresser circa 1950. It features four splines, detached from the body of the cabinet, that descend into tapered legs. The splines attach to three parallel cross-supports, in straight grain walnut, that cut through the mirrored book matched burl of the bowed body. The elegantly curved facade and rich walnut burl imparts the piece with an organic aesthetic that creates a dynamic juxtaposition with its architectonic and structured form. This cabinet represents a rare gem of Mid-Century Modernism by one of the period's greats, showcasing Scandinavian design and construction at its best. It has been restored to mint condition.
