Description
An outstanding 18th Century Danish paint decorated and profusely carved kas or armoire, the double domed to with rich faux marble arched cove moldings, the front with two applied carved roundels depicting archangels, the sides with smaller arches, over two doors with carved panels, the four main panels depicting four virtues “Ivstisia” (Justice) “Temperis” (Temperance) “Spes” (Hope) and “Fides” (Faith), surmounted by three pilasters with lion mask capitals, and male and female herm figures, over two drawers standing on trumpet turned ball feet.

Origin: Denmark Period: 18th Century Materials: Carved and painted pine, oak, iron. Condition: Excellent. Remarkable, painting mostly original, molding paint refreshed (primarily blue areas, probably some red too) Hardware original, shelves and interior grain paint later.
