Description
Dunlap School, ca. 1785-1800
Southern New Hampshire
Maple, figured maple, eastern white pine secondary, secondary wood.
Possibly from one of the Dunlap cabinet shops, this chest on chest on frame shares some similar attributes. The “spoon-carved” fan lobes, unique carved skirt and the prototypical “bandy” cabriole legs with shaped returns, are more commonly seen on Dunlap pieces.
Condition: excellent, period brass, not original. -
