Exquisite Custom Chest in Palisander by Ernst Kühn

Description
Extraordinary chest of drawers designed by architect and furniture designer Ernt Kühn (1890-1948), using very handsome cuts of palisander / Brazilian rosewood, the three drawers articulated with bead molding and double brass ring pulls, executed by Normina A/S Møbelsnedkerier, Denmark, circa 1940. Paper label identifying cabinetmaker with handwritten code: 2-7776.
Kühn opened an independent office in Copenhagen in 1933. His best known designs are for the Palladium cinema (1937-38), after which he designed a number of stately residences and took on several prominent restoration projects. -
