Description
This rare monumental Paul Evans geometric cabinet has four metal faced drawers on the lower section with an adjustable bronze glass shelf held by brackets on the upper section. It is signed with a full welded signature and the date 72 on the underside of the left door, indicating that the artist worked on this cabinet himself. Nearly concealed in the design of the face of this Paul Evans geometrical cabinet is a long triangular handle that protrudes from the face of the door. Paul Evans was a leader in the modern American Craft Movement of the 1970s. Unlike his peers, his important work was predominately expressed in metal, creating by hand sculptural furniture that was infused with detail, color and form.
