Description
A one of kind cabinet with drawers crafted by Mexican artist Pedro Friedeberg (1937-). It features a red and gilt cabinet or chest of drawers supported by ten red-painted legs and gilt feet. Three tiers of drawers display a graduate width and retain the original bronze hardware pulls. On top of the cabinet, an iconic "baby santo" statue spread out two arms and four legs anchored onto the four corners. The most curious part is that on the surface of the cabinet, there mounts an array of geometrical 3D shapes including pyramids, cubes etc, all gilt. The piece is an iconic example of Pedro Fredeberg's functional sculpture and is unique full of symbols. Signed on the edge of the top surface.
