Primary Woods: Mahogany, Satinwood Inlays
Secondary Woods: Yellow Poplar, White Pine (by microanalysis)
Height: 48 3/4 inches
Width: 44 1/2 inches
Depth: 20 inches
Reference: The use of terrapin or turtle-shaped escutcheons is a feature unique to Federal furniture made in Delaware. Please see The Sewell C. Biggs Collection of American Art: A Catalogue, Volume I, page 75 for a slant-lid desk probably made by James or Daniel McDowell. -
