Description
Angelo Lelii for Arredoluce rare sculptural tripod floor lamp with polished brass stem consisting of three rods held together by two small black enameled circular discs and extending up to hold large oblong ridged thick frosted glass shade, and resting on a tripod base with small circular solid brass cylinder feet. Although simple in form, this rare architectural floor lamp has sharp geometric lines and is truly a unique and modernist midcentury Italian design.
Rewired to U.S. standards including brown silk cord and foot dimmer switch.
Arredoluce was an Italian lighting company that was founded in Monza by the industrialist and designer Angelo Lelli in 1943. This small yet highly influential firm debuted its progressive and original lighting designs at the Milan Triennale exhibitions. Over the next thirty years it was to become one of the most innovative and important post-war lighting manufacturers in Italy. The firm produced lighting distinguished by dynamic and sculptural forms and its craftsmen possessed the technical ability to enable designers to create truly avant-garde lighting for the home. Besides producing Lelli’s own designs, Arredoluce also manufactured lighting by some of the leading Italian architects and designers including Gino Sarfatti, Castiglioni brothers, Gio Ponti, Ettore Sottsass, Vico Magistretti and Nando Vigo. The Arredoluce firm closed in the late 1970s. -
