Pair of Swedish Brass Table Lamps by ASEA, Sweden ca 1960s

$ 4,180
  • Description
    ASEA (before 1977: Allmänna Svenska Elektriska Aktiebolaget), was a Swedish electrotechnical company headquartered in Västerås. It was founded in 1883 and was, until 1987, the city's largest industrial company. ASEA started to catch the eye of design lovers for their commitment to excellence, reflected in the numerous collaborations with prominent architects and designers such as Lisa Johansson-Pape and Sven Aage Holm Sørensen. These partnerships have resulted in innovative, functional, and aesthetically pleasing lighting solutions that are highly sought after.

    ASEA's dedication to minimalist design, distinctive details, and premium materials is evident in their timeless models, including this exquisite pair of table lamps. The simple bodies exude sophistication through their sleekness. Both the stem and the sturdy round base are crafted from brass, a quintessentially mid-century modern material. The warm, golden hue of the brass is complemented by a minimalist design, allowing the lamps to seamlessly integrate into a variety of interior styles. Not only is this pair of lamps versatile, but the metal ensures they will last for generations to come, while a beautiful vintage patina develops over time. To complete the design, the lamps feature off-white empire shades. Made of high-quality fabric, they have a subtle wavy edge that adds a touch of softness and sophisticated movement to the overall aesthetic of the pieces, details highlighted by the green trim added to the tops and bottoms of the shades. This table lamp model seamlessly blends tradition with modernity, reflecting the design ethos of the mid-century period.

    These table lamps are a symbol of the innovative spirit and artistic craftsmanship that defined mid-20th-century Swedish design. Their presence is a surefire way to elevate the ambience of any space, creating an inviting and stylish atmosphere.
