Description
Carlo Nason, a renowned Italian designer, is celebrated for his innovative lighting designs that combine art and functionality. Emerging from a family of Murano glassmakers, Nason became a pioneer in modern lighting design during the mid-20th century. His collaborations with companies like Mazzega produced timeless creations that highlight the interplay of light and glass. The LS 187 hanging lamp, designed by Carlo Nason and produced by Mazzega, is a sophisticated example of mid-century lighting.
Design
This lamp comprises three textured, opaline glass elements that cascade elegantly, creating a fluid, organic form. Each glass piece refracts light beautifully, producing a warm and inviting glow. The stainless steel fixture adds a modern, industrial contrast to the glass, and the spiral cord enhances its visual dynamism. The curved edges and open-ended design of the glass elements contribute to the lamp's airy aesthetic, allowing light to flow freely and project captivating patterns on surrounding surfaces. This piece exemplifies the marriage of artistry and function, making it more than just a light source. Nason’s LS 187 seamlessly integrates timeless craftsmanship with modern sensibilities, establishing itself as a centerpiece for contemporary and vintage interiors alike.
Condition
This is a new old stock item and is in pristine condition and is also marked with a Mazzega sticker. -
