This bold and elegant Mid-Century Modernist Hand-Blown Bronze and Transparent Murano Glass Pendant Chandelier by Carlo Nason for Mazzega originates from Italy, Circa 1970. This stunning chandelier features a large shade rendered in a single piece of hand-blown murano glass. Square in form near the bottom of the chandelier with sides curving slightly inwards, the glass rises to a central hanging point, resembling the shape of a cloth being pulled vertically from a square table. The surface of the glass is stunningly achieved and full of textural detailing, with bronze hued glass emerging in organic striations from the top of the chandelier. With fittings rising to a chain and canopy also in polished brass. Carlo Nason was born into one of the oldest glass blowing families on the Island of Murano, where he was educated to the art at a very young age. Known for his inventive use of materials and producing stunning pieces in both form and function. This chandelier will serve as a statement and style beautifully in a wide array of spaces and settings, from Mid-Century Modernist to Contemporary and Minimal Interiors. Newly rewired to American Standards, this piece accommodates one Edison base bulb achieving up to 100 watts of light. Height can be adjusted to suit, and this Chandelier is in Excellent Vintage Condition.
