Three Green Carlo Nason Table Lamps with Leafs in Murano Glass, Italy 1970s
-
Description
As a descendant of a family renowned for their Murano glass craftsmanship spanning generations, Carlo Nason chose a different path from his relatives. While his father, Vincenzo, focused on creating traditional and beautifully decorated glass works, Carlo embraced the modernist movement and began experimenting. Beyond designing for manufacturers like Vistosi, Murano Due, and Firme di Vetro, Carlo has enjoyed a longstanding collaboration with Mazzega.
Design
This dazzling table lamp features a triangular base with a height of three centimeters. The heavily patinated brass edges, on which the glass leaves rest, extend slightly outward. Three brass rods emerge from this base, securing the glass with screws. This minimalist base harmonizes beautifully with the organically shaped Murano glass. The glass structure exhibits a certain looseness or sandiness, starting with a subtle green, grayish tint at the lower part that transitions to transparent from the middle upwards. The light source is positioned at the color transition point, and when the lamp is switched on, it exudes elegance. A reflection of green and yellow tones shines directly on the surface, making this small lamp exceptionally unique. We have three lamps in total available.
Condition
The lamps are in very good condition, showing only minimal traces of use. -
