George Kovacs Style Marble & Chrome Adjustable Floor Reading Lamp
-
Description
Throughout the years, lighting design has become more closely aligned with the world of art and sculpture, a movement which has brought us some stunning creations. This was certainly not uncommon during the Mid-Century Modern design movement, which can perhaps be seen as a precursor to today’s rich world of lighting. At the time, a plethora of new materials came to light which were far more readily available for use than ever before. In the style of George Kovacs, we have this delightful floor lamp which features a combination of the timeless materials; chrome and Carrara marble.
This floor lamp is an essential for any home or environment. As an accompaniment to a lounge, nestled between two chairs for conversation, or perhaps neighboring a workspace; it is sure to provide function as well as style. The two most noticeable elements of this lamp are its generously sized adjustable spot-head which emits a soft light in any desired direction. Grounding this piece securely is a block of Carrara marble, with rich veins which complement the chromed steel finish perfectly. Lastly, there is a diminutive chromed steel rod which brings all of these elements together, slender yet durable. This lamp remains in its original condition and is fully functional. Minor wear exists on the finish and Carrara marble block, however nothing which affects the integrity of the lamp. -
