Mid Century Wood & Chrome Floor Lamp by Georges Frydman for Temde Leuchten
-
Description
This refined Mid-Century Modern rosewood and chrome floor lamp was designed by Georges Frydman for Temde Leuchten in Switzerland, circa 1960. The piece offers a bookmatched rosewood veneer circular base from which a cylindrical chrome body ascends upwards bifurcated by a matching support at a perpendicular angle that supports a shade with a rosewood veneer brim and a black enamel top. The handle of the arm that attaches to the shade as well as the circular gear used to adjust the pitch of the arm are in black resin, as is the detail at the base of the body. With its clean lines and chic employment of modern materials, this piece is as versatile as it is aesthetically compelling, blending perfectly with any style of interior from Classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. The fixture has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent vintage condition.
