1955, Ilmari Tapiovaara 'Maija' floor lamp for Asko/Hienoterä. A rare original vintage edition made in Finland and executed in painted metal with brass hardware and rattan. This highly refined and sculptural lamp casts beautifully diffused slices of warm light. Ilmari Tapiovaara was a creative powerhouse of midcentury Finnish design who has become increasingly valued by collectors for the scarcity and unique timelessness of his work.
