Italian Mid-Century Modern Brass, Enamel and Frosted Glass Five-Arm Chandelier

This refined and elegant chandelier was realized in Italy, circa 1950. It features a circular gently convex bottom plate with a cylindrical finial in polished brass, from which five arms undulate outwards culminating in five domed brass bases topped with bias cut frosted glass shades. The shades and plate are secured by a cylindrical rod, from which four black enamel embellishments capped with striated brass ends energetically spring outwards. Full of verve and élan, this piece embodies the qualities that discerning collectors of great Italian design cherish. With its refined palate and clean modernist lines, this chandelier would be a winning addition to any style of interior from classic Mid-Century Modern to contemporary. It has been newly rewired to American standards and is in excellent condition. The height can be adjusted to suit. The chandelier accommodates five candelabra based bulbs offering up to 300 watts of light.
