Modernistic Ceiling Lamp Model. ER 163 in Brass & Acrylic, Itsu 1950s
-
Description
An absolutely beautiful ceiling lamp in brass, manufacutred by Itsu in Finland in the 1950s- early 60s. This lamp has a beautiful design with direct uplight and downwards through the difuser. Definitely belongs to the upper echelon of Finnish design lamps.
The lamp comes in it's original condition. It has an amazingly nice vintage patina. One metal part that holds the acrylic shade in place is missing, but it does not show as it is on the inside and it does not affect functionality. Refer to pictures please.
Itsu was one of the leading lamp manufacturers in Finland during the middle of the 20th century and a daughter company of Idman. Along with companies like Taito Oy, Idman and Orno they defined what Finnish design lamps would become. It made high quality lamps and produced lamps for major projects, including some of Alvar Aalto's projects like the Aalto University. -
