Contemporary functional art or collectible design piece by Janne Schimmel, 2018. A standard neon tube light has been 3D scanned and brought back into the real world by vacuum forming a digital print. The empty plastic shell that is created shows the inside of the lamp whilst at the same time diffusing the light. It gives the light of the neon tube a new quality and at the same time shows the inner working of the lamp.
