"Nefer" floor lamp by Kazuhide Takahama for Sirrah, 1986. This lamp features a solid marble base with a gold-plated metal frame. Two bulbs operated by a foot switch. Retains original shade cloth. Sourced outside of Florence, Italy.
Kazuhide Takahama (1920-2013) was a Japanese-born, Italian-inspired lighting and furniture designer. Takahama worked and taught in Japan but ultimately relocated to Bologna, Italy in 1963 where he fostered relationships and collaborations with renowned Italian designers. Takahama’s work reflects this east and west design fusion with a modern touch. He has worked with Gavina, Cassina, Paradisoterrestre and B&B Italia, among others. Takahama’s Saghi Lounge Chair in the permanent collection at the MoMA. -

A matte patina has developed on the gold tone metal frame as shown in photos. Some mild discoloration to cloth shade.
