Description
A very beautiful ceiling lamp model 61-314 designed by Lisa Johansson-Pape, and manufactured by Orno in the 1950s. This lamp is in full brass with a perforated shade full of tiny dots in her circular patern that form a lovely design across the lamp.
Even though it's a fancy idea, the design is not over the top. On the contrary the lamp is very simplistic in design, which makes it even more elegant. As we all know, less is more.
The lamp is in good condition and fully restored due to the heavy patina it had. It is stamped Orno twice. The cord is set at one meter height but there is enough cord to double it to more than 2 meters.
Lisa Johansson-Pape´s first priority when designing was always about the function of the lamp, then the design. After designing furnitures for Stockmann in the 1930s, she moved to lighting designs also for the Stockmann owned company Orno in the 1940s. Some of her lamp designs are still being manufactured today by Innojok and Keraplast.
Lisa won a number of awards for her lighting designs including a gold medal at the 1954 Milan Triennale. -
