    A Modernist Lamp c.1935. This is a quintessential machine age lamp, attributed to the designer Walter Von Essen & manufactured by Pattyn Modern Products, Detroit, Michigan. A large, imposing table lamp with a heavy solid aluminum milled tool cut base with a multi layered machine cut aluminum shade with a fiber glass liner. (The original liner would have been made from off white paper, but few have survived intact. Examples of this lamp are included in several 20th Century Collections in Museums around the World. A perfect addition to the Art Deco or Modernist home or office.
