Description
Beautifully hand decorated Scandinavian Modern ceramic lamp designed by Marianne Starck for Michael Andersen. Bornholm, Denmark. The lamp depicts several birds against a golden background perched inside a red cage. The lamp has custom hand patinated stem and double bulb cluster and is wired for use in the USA. This lamp was finished in :Persian Glaze" crackly glaze which was unique to the maker and know a lost to time formula.
Marianne Starck (1938-2007), who was educated at the School of Fine Arts in Hamburg and joined Michael Andersen as Art Director in 1955 until 1993.
